Thank you for all the support! What an amazing community we live in!
The big improvements of the first few months are a thing of the past. It must be frustrating for Jo to have come so far, and now hit a wall, where it’s hard to see changes on a day-to-day basis. The days are hard, long and monotonous. Chris has expressed that Saturdays are the worst. More than ever, she needs friends and visits.
Thankfully we raised a lot of money at the fundraiser. Is it enough? Probably not. The two biggest expenses boil down to two things: loss of income, and therapy. Jo’s doctors estimate about two years for her recovery. Jo worked full time, and with one child in college, and another close, you can imagine what it’s like for them to exist on half their income. The other piece is that insurance only covers a fraction of the therapy recommended for a stroke victim. Even with good insurance, their out of pocket medical expenses are high.
